The Mirror Empty

The Mirror

I look into the forlorn face
Of the girl across from me
Her eyes so full of tears
That she can hardly see.

She hits her head against the wall
Before slumping to the ground
She lets her tears fall freely
With no comfort to be found.

She gently rocker her body
Swaying to and fro
She needs someone to hold her
But she had nowhere to go.

She grips her battered arms
Brushing bloody gashes
Blood cakes on her skin
As tears cling to her lashes.

She screams out loud
As she pulls her hair
Fear consumes and broken soul
Searching for a heart that isn't there.

I reach my hand out to the broken girl
But quickly pull away
I see the emptiness in her eyes
And find no words that I could say.

What happened to this girl
Is the question on my mind
She searches so hard, so desperately
For something she can never find.

She digs her nails into her skin
Biting back the pain
She drops the razor to the floor
As the blood falls down like rain.

I look back once more
At her eyes so full of fear
Then I get back to me feet
And walk away from the mirror.

Wow star that's incredible. So sad though. But I suppose we all feel that way one time or another in our lives, although some of us more than others, thank you for sharing this! *hugs*
